November 2023
It's been a year, especially this month, totally engrossed in Taekwon-Do.
I graded to 7th Dan .... now carrying the title of 'Master', but not feeling worthy of it.

A certificate to treasure.
And words to try and live up to.

February 2024
An odd month .... firstly, I fell from the top of a ladder, backwards and headfirst.
Much blood, much drama. ED, scan, staples to hold head together.
BUT, I was booked to go up to Rotorua and go on an adventure,
down the world's best zipline ride.
Determined not to miss it, I used my TKD hoodie to pad the hardhat
for my sore head, and absolutely LOVED it!
Down 6 different lines over the tall trees of a native forest.
Wonderful!

Then I had my two best-selling
(and sold-out) books reprinted.
Click here to see inside them.

March 2024 Always difficult to get back to the studio after a break (of any sort).

And in case you think I'm a miserable git, looking only at the bleaker side of life .....

On the left, me and my partner, the painter Paul Hutchinson, at my 80th birthday party,
on the right, this year, complete with the model skull he coloured for me yesterday.
(His shirt says 'SOMETHING WICKED THIS WAY COMES' - from Shakespeare's Globe in London.)

In the middle, part of an assemblage I made 25 years ago, titled:

Time held me green and dying, though I sang in my chains like the sea.

from the poem Fern Hill by Dylan Thomas.
I love it. Still singing in those chains.
