Dale Copeland Born in Taranaki, 1943. B.Sc., Dip.Soc.Sc. and M.A., 1st class Hons in Mathematics. Offered Massey Doctoral Scholarship in Chaos Theory '97. Changed direction to art. Lives at Puniho with painter Paul Hutchinson. Has a Sixth Dan black belt in Taekwon-Do (2020) In 2012 Dale was made a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit (M.N.Z.M.) for her services to art. She ran the annual International Collage Exhibition/Exchange for 20 years, up to 2018. She has worked in collage, jewellery, book-making, photography, fabric art and sculpture, but her favoured medium is assemblage, 'bricolage' or box art : careful constructions of treasured objects, philosophy of the found.
