From conception, onwards, out and down
Tiny dolls, a backbone, a seahorse, a rusted piece of metal, a burned-out candle.
Dale Copeland
detail.
Starting with one object, looking for meaning, looking for other objects to carry the story, searching for a box of just the right size.
Eventually, if you're lucky, the things start to come together, to become more than just the sum of their parts.
I'm grateful to Barbara Clegg for the gift of those fragile little dolls.
And to fix things together ... sometimes carpentry isn't enough, but setting in crystal-clear resin works perfectly.
