The woman who married for money tends her assets
mixed media assemblage
doll/moneybox, 'tree' of rose quartz, shredded banknotes set in resin
by Dale Copeland, 2008
Dale's studio can be found on Surf Highway, Taranaki, New Zealand
That doll money box with the coin slot set as it is, had always bothered me. It seemed too obvious.
I'd put her through a lot of changes, from being a Sheila na Gigh figure to being rubbed bare, a whited sepulchre.
Finally silver-grey, in her garden, tending ALL her assets.
From money tree to the well-kept trophy body.
