Dale Copeland in her studio

2004. My studio.

I love it. People ask how I can bear to work in such a mess, but to me the mess is a necessary part of the work. Without piles of treasure/junk to choose from, how can I find just exactly the right thing that I need for a particular assemblage?
Sure, I end up with no flat surface to work on, but that's O.K.
Time spent clearing up is time gone in not making.

September 2007.
One corner becomes civilised!

December 2013.
Another short-lived clear space.

January 2006.
Look at the patchwork tiles I laid on the deck outside the door!

June 2014
And a brickpath through the 'privy garden' to the deck and door.

None of that lasted of course. BUT you should see what I've done in 2023 !!

The BIG TIDY
One far corner.     Before . . . . . . . . . . and after

You'll have to come on the Taranaki Arts Trail to see it all.

I'm having too much fun making things in this lovely big space to take the time to put more pics online.
