Mike Scott, a good Taranaki photographer, made a small video of me in my studio.
It shows the Not-Very-Merry-Go-Round (and all its noises).
You can see it here.

Like life - at first glance it's joy and merriment, spinning with music. But the figures have the horror of jangling juxtapositions.

In this dried fish head are my mother's old false teeth - the body is made of jawbones and the feet are from a doll. All smoothly joined into the figure of a smiling nightmare.

Seven figures on a slowly-rotating base, with sounds which are part music box and part apparently random janglings of faint bells and chimes, rattling and clanking.
One of my favourites.

Dale's studio can be found on Surf Highway, Taranaki, New Zealand
