Carpe Diem Carp
linocut print on silk
by Dale Copeland, 1990
Collection of Val and Trev Barrett, New Plymouth

'Carpe Diem' is Latin for "Seize the day".
Take the opportunities, the chances, the excitements.
Incidentally, I carved out the linocut with a general idea of what a fish should look like.
I don't think I've ever seen a carp.
So I apologise to the ichthyologists who know what it SHOULD look like.
But hey, I just looked at carp images online, and it looks OK. I'm pleased.
