Diagnosis
by Dale Copeland
30 X 19 X 5 cm

A younger friend was diagnosed with breast cancer.
She was/is a perfect example of stoic acceptance and preparation.
She cut off all her hair before it fell out, and was kind enough to give it to me.
There's a lock of it in that bottle.
The angst and fear and despair that shows in the assemblage illustrates my feelings, not hers.
Years ago now, and she's well, happy, healthy, and making art.
An example to us all.

Dale Copeland lives at Puniho, coastal Taranaki, New Zealand
