"Play Me" and Dale (and friend) in her lair.
Everyone is taller than me!!
Alan Muggeridge's widow gave me his half-made musical instruments.

This one was a prototype for his "Trumpet Marine".

With the head on top it seemed to be the epitome of woman as sensual object. Play Me.

A clothes holder with secrets. Aren't we all?

As well as the double-bass string for plucking, I added a clock gong with spring-mounted striker, a few antique ceramic handles which activate other musical chimes inside, a music box which plays "Memories", a brass bell on the back.

Even a slot for coins to drop inside and hit all the noisy things.

And the clearest sound, in spite of all the intentions, is Memories.
Sad that we come to that.

Dale's studio can be found on Surf Highway, Taranaki, New Zealand
