I was sent a box of treasure ...the fossil possums are just beautiful (thank you Janine).
And I was given the insides of an old piano. Many a happy hour pulling it to bits, ending up with jars of woodscrews, all that ivory and ebony, and some useful wooden bits (thank you Roger)
I cast the hands in lead (again from the piano .. it's used to weight the wooden key linkages). One by carving into cuttlefish to get the hand shape, and the other by setting plaster around a doll's arm. And the third is a silver charm from Mexico.
The wooden pencil box ... a school woodwork project ... was a perfect base for this.
Life is good .. when you know what you want to make, what it should look and feel like,
then you just have to invent the methods to make it happen.
